Sustainable tourism is another way to educate the public about the value of nature. I have worked as a freelance birdwatching and nature guide for many years. Some of the companies I have worked for are Mirua Actividades de Naturaleza (Spain), Aurora Expeditions (Australia), Birding in Spain (Spain), Scanbird (Denmark), BirdingBreaks (Holland) or BirdwatchingBreaks (Scotland), among others.
Although my work is primarily as a local guide in Navarra, the Pyrenees and the Ebro Valley, I have also worked in other places in the Iberian Peninsula, and even in other countries. To me it is very important not to disturb the birds and animals, so no harm is done to any natural element in the places we visit during our trips. Therefore I try to be very careful in my work and I maintain a basic ethical code to get this objective.
In relation to this exciting work comes also my passion for traveling, while always trying to be an observant of birds, nature and culture of the different places in our planet. At the moment, I have had the opportunity to visit a good part of Europe, United States of America, Argentina, Thailand, the Arab Emirates, Senegal, Kenya, Spitzbergen and Antarctica.
Some customers’ comments:
“Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge on this superb, but little visited región; hope to keep in touch to visit Navarra again. Best wishes.”
“Thank you so very much for a fantastic trip. We couldn’t have wished for better. Great birds, wonderful scenary and your hospitality was very much appreciated by both of us. Sincerely.”
“The visit to Navarra was very interesting. I saw the Dupont’s Lark very well and my wife found some new birds. I’ve been visiting Spain for birdwatching three years long and this one was of the best journeys. I sincerely recommend the visit with Gorka.”
“As a guide, Gorka is the salt of the Earth.”

“A short E-mail to say thank you for the wonderful “Holiday” you arranged for us. We enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish so much. You not only organized the birds for us but also the weather, it was un-forgettable.
We sincerely hope to see you again somewhere.”
“Many thanks for the guiding – we very much enjoyed the perfect introduction to Navarra.”
“Gorka is the best guide I’ve mete ver. When I went to Navarra in March he drove me to the mountains, along the valleys, rivers… and tried his best to find the birds and explain me everything. English language is not easy for Chinese people, but the communication with Gorka was very easy. Next year I’ll visit Spain for birding and will ask Gorka to be my guide again.”
